Who we are
Dina’s Garden (https://dinasgarden.com) is a gardening blog sharing practical growing guides, tips and video tutorials. This page explains what personal data we collect, why we collect it, and what we do with it.
Comments
When you leave a comment on the site, we collect the data shown in the comments form (name, email address and the comment itself), along with your IP address and browser user-agent string to help with spam detection. Your email address is never displayed publicly. If you have left comments, you can request an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, or ask that we erase it.
Newsletter
If you sign up for our newsletter, we store the email address you provide and use it only to send you gardening guides and updates from Dina’s Garden. Emails are delivered through our email-marketing provider, and every message includes an unsubscribe link. We never sell or share your email address.
Contact form
When you contact us through the contact form, we receive the name, email address and message you submit. We use this information only to reply to your enquiry and do not use it for marketing.
Cookies and analytics
We use analytics tools (such as Google Analytics) to understand which articles are helpful to readers — for example, which pages are visited and for how long. This data is aggregated and does not identify you personally. You can block cookies in your browser settings at any time.
Embedded content from other websites
Articles on this site include embedded videos from YouTube. Embedded content behaves exactly as if you had visited the other website, which may collect data about you, use cookies and monitor your interaction with the embedded content, especially if you are logged in to that website.
Who we share your data with
We do not sell or trade your personal data. Data is processed only by the service providers that operate this site: our hosting provider, analytics (Google) and our email-newsletter provider.
How long we retain your data
Comments and their metadata are retained indefinitely so follow-up comments can be recognised automatically. Newsletter emails are kept until you unsubscribe.
Your rights over your data
You can request an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us. You can also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you (this does not include data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal or security purposes). To exercise these rights, contact us through the contact page.
Where your data is sent
Visitor comments may be checked through an automated spam-detection service.
